On Friday night the second televised leaders debate takes place on BBC1 at 9.00pm, albeit strangely without the leader of either of the two main parties, Rishi Sunak or Sir Keir Starmer.
Instead, we will be treated to the entertaining sight of seeing Leader of the House of Commons Penny Mordaunt, representing the Government in proxy for Rishi Sunak, go head-to-head with Labour Deputy leader Angela Rayner, deputizing for Keir Starmer.
This debate should be a real eye-opener for many voters, who will be able to see first-hand the stark contrast in the calibre of politician being offered by both parties.
I would urge viewers to pay close attention to how both of these senior figures come across on the night, both in terms of what they say and also how they say it. I believe it will be very revealing, and will show voters that on polling day they will need to ask themselves a very important question: who do they really trust to run the country?
In all honesty, out of these two, to whom would you rather hand responsibility for your money, your security, and your children’s future? Penny Mordaunt, a university of Reading graduate with 9 years of military service to her name and with 10-years experience across myriad Government departments. Or Fag-Ash Lil.
